Shanoa always had dreams of working in the beauty industry. She came from a family of mostly woman, so she knows first hand the need and desire for a place where every woman can feel excepted, beautiful, relaxed and inspired. She spent her life searching for an avenue to create just that place. After obtaining her Cosmetology License, she worked doing hair for a short time and was not inspired. She decided to start working at a local wax center and do what she really loved. While working there, she made many deep connections and learned the art of speed waxing. She quickly became one of the fastest and most sought after waxers in Salinas, and began conducting the training for the company new hires. The problem was the faster she waxed, she could feel her connections becoming more rushed and felt the resulting disconnect. The ability to empower women by speaking to them about confidence, encouragement, community volunteer opportunities, and their passions, became difficult in the rush of her work. After 2 years it was time for a change.  The years of experience, training, and countless customers were all to prepare her for the opportunity to make the women of Monterey County feel their best. She opened Bare Wax Loft in 2015 and her intention was to create an elegant and peaceful environment for clients, friends, and family to feel comfortable and pampered. Fast forward to December 2019 she recreated Bare Wax Loft and opened Bare Sugar & Wellness Spa with an aim to create an earth friendly spa, that her clients can feel good about. She has made numerus changes to incorporate services and practices that will change how Salinas and the surrounding area sees beauty and the beauty industry as a whole. She is putting more of an emphasis on what is good for our body and good for our planet, and less emphasis on alterations of the human body, because we are all already wonderfully and beautifully made. Her goal is to help our clients feel beautiful on the inside as well as out and to uncover their bare beauty through the art of sugaring, waxing and self care.

About Shannon: Licensed Esthetician/Waxing Professional/SugarPro

Shannon was born and raised in Salinas with her two older sisters and two older brothers. She has tight family roots and has a deep passion for family. She is a huge animal lover, especially dogs. She’s always had love for the beauty industry. As a child she would give her Dad makeovers, he was such a good sport and really encouraged her to pursue her dreams. In 2019 she decided to go for it and enrolled in at California Academy of Cosmetology to get her esthetics license. This is were she realized her love for hair removal. After getting her license she worked at a local wax center and loved being able to help women feel more confident in their skin. While there she continued to learn and obtained certifications in Brow Lamination, Lash Extensions, Lash Lifts, Tinting, and Sugaring. She is so excited to bring her skills to Bare so she can grow and learn more as an Esthetician with encouragement and mentorship.
